Get email from Beastie Boys store. Follow link because of specific product. Get asked if I want to go to Canadian store. Go to Canadian store. Product is only in the US store.
I'm aware this is a very very small problem but it's just an example of stupid. Our economies are basically one big intertwined mess, and yet prices are stupidly high here and half the products on a US store don't exist in it's Canadian analog.
@Camerondotca when it comes to online stores this seems to be an issue that is most prominent among American companies. When it comes to international stores in Europe or Japan I very rarely run into that issue. And shipping is faster even though they are further away and require boats or planes.
@TheRuralProgressive yep. They're like "we will take your money. We don't care where it comes from" and the US ones are like "OMG CANADA?!!!" In fact, IIRC I also feel like I pay less duties/customs when I order from not USA.
@Camerondotca when I had to order brake pads for my car from an aftermarket store in the US (supply issues meant standard OEM ones where 2 or 3 months away from even being produced) 1/3 of the total cost was shipping and duties. Unless it’s a rare or unique item seeing “ships from the US” is an instant no go for me now.
CounterSocial is the first Social Network Platform to take a zero-tolerance stance to hostile nations, bot accounts and trolls who are weaponizing OUR social media platforms and freedoms to engage in influence operations against us. And we're here to counter it.
