❄️ 📷 A question about cameras and lenses in cold weather: I know it's important to protect them from condensation when coming back in from the cold, but what's the best plan? Is keeping the camera in the cold camera bag for an hour or so while it warms up slowly enough? Or should I be putting the camera in a large cold air filled ziploc baggie, as one person recommended? Is airtight plastic really necessary? #newbie #cosophotography #photography
@LiseL I've read that leaving it in the bag and letting it come up to room temp in there is fine with digital.
@LiseL so one woman I know (who shoots for TurboHaus and at other music venues) says leaving it in bakcpack is fine.
@LiseL others are going to check in though
@Camerondotca Interesting. Welp. Obviously different folks have different ways. However, what @Silea says about judging the situation (how cold is it and for how long have you been out?) does makes a lot of sense. I also need to factor in my own psychology: on the cautious and risk-averse side. Many thanks for looking into it.
@Camerondotca Any and all advice appreciated. This is all new to me. There's a lot online obviously, but when I hear different advice, I worry. Given how cold it gets around here (you know!), I should probably take every precaution.
