I've now sold 408 books. Sure, 199 of them were FREE but that leaves a healthy 209 for cash monies. So my question is:
When do you start really feeling like a success as a Writer?
Is there some magic figure of books sold or what?

@Cadence
You feel like a writer when you walk past a bookshop window and see multiple copies of your book on display. Right there behind the glass.

@Cadence I mean, I've not sold anywhere near that (and mine is comics) but for me it was when someone who wasn't in my circle of friends or friends of friends who bought one ❤️ congrats btw, thats rad af!!

@Cadence In 10 years I've only given my books away for free, once. That was this January. 300 downloads not a single review. 209 is a great amount, yes we could happily add a couple of noughts onto the end of that. You ARE doing well. 🤩

@Cadence Great work, Cadence! You became a success the minute you finished a book (which most people don't accomplish) and then published said book. From here on, it's all about growth, honing your craft and developing a community of readers. Enjoy the journey! However many books you sell, they are all positive numbers.

@Cadence It's whenever you can't deny it's really happening, I think. Success is so hard to define and different for everyone.

Just keep doing what you do. Build slowly. This is a long game.
