Or, he's raising a legitimate disconnect.
There are DEFINITELY shades of "did this movie direct itself?" in terms of how awards seem to shake out. Systemic racism and misogyny are absolutely with us, and it's only through questioning the outcomes that we may be able to weaken them. You can LOVE Taylor and her work, and don't have to like Jay-Z AT ALL for the point he's making to bear further scrutiny.
@WeThePeople @CLManussier BINGO!
Just because the stars of a movie or the costume designer, etc. win, doesn't necessarily mean the director deserves an award over other contenders. If we were to go with that analogy, then one movie should be announced as the winner for all categories and then be done with the show.
@CLManussier
I do like a few Beyonce songs, and I cant say as I remember a single Taylor Swift song
To me, a person who cant be called a fan of either artist, it smacks of jealousy, and a never ending craving to remain relevant
In my mind, Beyonce's star is fading, as they all do to some degree, and he just sounds bitter
Yes, absolutely there is racism in the industry. But you cant win 32 Grammys and make a billion dollars and try to claim "I'm being discriminated against" and not sound silly
