It's $2.78 by me and I don't live in the sticks at all. I'm truly surprised to see the average price so high, considering what it is here. In the northeast.

Well, THAT isn't "average" ~ it's a single (good) price for premium grade. The price average 👇 ($3.17) is nationwide for regular (including LA, where Gas Buddy reports lows around $3.99 & Chicago where they give it at ~$3.37... I picked close-in neighborhoods in the drill-down; premium @ the same Chicago area is $4.39).
It varies SO MUCH with proximity to transit hubs, cost of the real estate footprint where a given station is located a d the state & local tax situation.
Yea, I was referring to the chart, not the pump price. Usually we're above average. That's why I'm surprised.
