My hope is that with a Senate majority on one side and a House majority on the other they will work together.
But we all know not a damn thing will get done.

@Bukowskiwithacamera not true. i think the senate has a real oppty to fill the many many vacant judicial seats. that can have real lasting impact given how long judicial appts can last.
fill the seats, dems! it can help prevent further gerrymandering & other erosions to democracy. preserve actual free speech & separation of church & state etc.

@Bukowskiwithacamera oh, i think there's a lot of trauma for many americans. the erosion of rights, the onslaught of fascism, the relentlessness of the doom & intolerance + pandemic has no doubt taken a toll.
can't do much about scotus at the moment. but being slow or shy on filling the judiciary left a huge opening for gop. the dems can help balance shit at the state level which is a significant battle ground for much of what you're tired of & afraid of.
not perfect. but it's something.
