Senator "In the Thrall of a Nazi Enthusiast":
The news came out this week that Harlan Crow, billionaire, Nazi memorabilia collector, and vacation provider to the most conservative SCOTUS member, is also a frequent on-the-books contributor to your campaigns. I don't have to tell you how bad this looks.
Fortunately I have put together a three point plan to help you rehabilitate your reputation after this shameful scandal:
1) Return all contributions that Harlan Crow has made to your campaigns, and to you personally. This includes off the books contributions such as any Nazi memorabilia Mr. Crow may have given you, repayment for any vacations you may have taken with or without Clarence and Ginny Thomas, and any payments made directly to you in a quid pro quo for voting against popular Democratic legislation.
2) Publicly disavow your relationships with Harlan Crow, Clarence Thomas, and Ginny Thomas.
3) Resign from the US Senate.
If you immediately take these three decisive actions I can assure you that the public will resume their fawning appreciation of your "fierce independent spirit" or whatever it is you're going for these days.
Give my best to Clarence, Ginny, and the Nazi billionaire guy on your way out the door (but back-channel only, as you'll have publicly disavowed them beforehand if you employ the critical second stage of my plan).
After all, what could be more fiercely independent than running as an independent for Senate without the advantage of being an incumbent previously elected through manipulation of the Democratic Party? Please quit, then when you win back your Senate seat you won't have that albatross hung around your neck.
