Hey CosoVerse. My partner just got a text supposedly from a previous boss, calling him by name and asking him "to complete a task." However, the texter stopped texting when my husband requested him to verify info about their shared history. Scammers are getting pretty sophisticated. Be wary out there.

The scammer had old information- they use a trusted position of authority (boss) to ask you to complete a task, but don’t call-I’m in a meeting. They want you buy gift cards and text them the numbers.
