@Bobbelieu I am not a Facebook or Meta user or customer.
Am _I_ expected to affirm in some way that I _don't_ want them using my data? I feel that would be displacement of responsibility and onerous. I feel like that's what these behemoth companies _want_ us to think is "normal" or acceptable, so they can pretend _not_ agreeing to a contract is the same as having a contract.
I think people should have to opt-in, even if they are users or customers, not opt-out.
@Bobbelieu I kind of feel like the current state of things is such that some entity can claim that they've made a thing where you can tell them _not_ to use your likeness for their own purposes, so if you _don't_ sign it that means you _agree_ it's okay to sell t-shirts with pictures of you naked and with a butt for a forehead.

I'm concerned we'll see encroachment into what constitutes the formation of an agreement at all.
Meta (or whoever) could put a thing that says all their users agree to have their "whatever" used, and then I visit some other site, and there's an image or video from FB showing, so now they'll plead to courts that counts as me being a user and having to opt-out.
@Bobbelieu if you live in the US, you can say no until you're blue, but they'll use your stuff if they want to. not a thing you can do about it. if you carefully follow these instructions, Meta will email you saying "too bad, so sad, we're just following local law"
@redenigma @Bobbelieu Well maybe we should change that. Maybe we should stop putting up with that and also stop putting up with excuses from lawmakers about it, too.
Maybe we should make the next elections about cleaning house a bit.
