@Bobbelieu A while back at a holiday gathering the discussion moved to how long was appropriate to date before committing.
The host couple proposed after only a couple of months (too short IMO). They quipped "When you know; you know." I answered, "You 'knew' twice before and you were wrong, soooooooo...."
In general, I wanted to see someone for a full year, all the holidays, ups and downs, good times and bad, before thinking I "know" anything.
