Q: Why can't conservatives seem to hold down a social media platform?

A: The illusion of free speech.

Unmoderated spaces attract the worst of the worst, and most people won't choose a virtual space where they are surrounded by the worst of humanity.

Thank you for bꙬsting my tꙬt.
(it's okay, they're eyes) 😉

@BlisterPearl I remember reading an article about how that’s the reason Parler, Gab, etc aren’t as popular.

@BlisterPearl that and any echo chamber sucks. Especially an echo chamber of pure hatred.

@BlisterPearl hate speech IS NOT free speech. free speech is when Black, Indigenous, disabled, queer, or all of these identities at once, intersecting between one another, can speak up freely about their lived experiences. that’s real free speech, and isn’t it a bit ironic how the people yelling at the top of their lungs “WE LOVE FREE SPEECH” seem to deny… any sort of speech towards trans people? or towards Black people? isn’t it intriguing?
