yep, were under Red Flag Warning
Thanks! FDNY Update to Riverside Park Fire:
'FDNY received calls at 2:34pm about a brush fire at 155 St & Harlem River Dr. The first units arrived on scene & were confronted with an extensive fire of 10-15 acres of extremely dry dense brush fire on a hilly section with few water sources. We had approximately 138 firefighters on scene, as it rose to a 3rd alarm. Right now it is under control. We will be leaving a fire engine overnight to monitor. There were no injuries.'
@Bliss Thanks for the update
@Bliss this article doesn't talk about the Riverside Drive Park fire, but does give some background an an idea of the many wildfires.
It seems more tragic for these relatively few woodland acres in an urban area to be lost, compared to wildfires in more remote areas. But it's a catastrophe regardless.
