Judges for the (best of Fiction), have announced 13 finalists for 2024.

In a development that might raise the hackles of those who criticized the now decade-old rule change that allowed US to compete, six authors are Americans. Tommy Orange, nominated for his novel "Wandering Stars," is the first Native American writer to be named to the longlist.

Finalists will be winnowed down to a shortlist of 6 in September, with a winner announced in November. - Source WaPo
