Governor signs law to restrict schools from teaching racism and LGBT topics, is upset when schools follow the law.
Queue parents being upset, and saying the classics like “This isn’t what I voted for!”
Desantis signed a handful of laws that restricted what topics can be discussed in schools.
Specifically racism historically and LGBT topics.
Turns out a lot of historical literature covers those topics.
And so now people are upset these schools don’t have books. And teachers are fleeing the state because the penalties for having these books is pretty steep.
And of course the people who voted for Desantis and his parent rights are now magically shocked that their kids schools suck.
