What’s The Point Of Mid-Grade Gasoline? '

@Dane

What’s the point of literally anything but regular gas?

@amarand @Dane Higher performance engines utilize higher compression ratios. Regular grade gas can prematurely detonate due to this higher pressure and that's problematic. Premium gas is engineered to work in these higher compression engines without that problem. The EC in my wife's 2022 CX-5 Turbo can sense what grade fuel it's using and will adjust the engine's horsepower output automatically.

@MakerWerks @Dane

“Higher performance engines” sounds like a rich person problem to me, though.

@amarand I'm not rich, but this is a 10:1 Chrysler 440ci

4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes

QA1 shocks and anti-sway bars.

She loves sipin' the good stuff.

To set the timing proper one advances the spark till she rattles and back it off 3 degrees.

The more the advanced spark, the more the zoom zoom.

@Dane @amarand @MakerWerks Had a 72 Challenger and dropped a 440 in it, hooker headers, alum. intake, changed from points to electronic, and put B2 heads, 3in exhaust w turndowns WAY before rear axle lol. Had to sell it when I moved, saddest day ever.
