The Mazda RX-3 to RX-7 were badass, but overall, the rotary engine never lived up to its theoretical advantages on power and fuel economy.

Mazda's last model of the RX-8 had so many (reliability) problems that they stopped making the car. It was the last car with a rotary engine.
