As a creative person when I am executing an idea I need a chunk of time to sit down and do the work. But as far as coming up with new ideas it often happens when I am doing something else. Walking my dog, doing the dishes, mowing the lawn, hell, even just laying in bed at night. So if you have writers block, get away from that blank page and go do something else. You may be surprised. Just bring a notepad! #creativity

14 years ago I had my first major manic episode and was hospitalized for 5 days. It took another year and a half and a second manic episode before I was diagnosed as bipolar type one. Flash forward to today and I have a great job that I’ve held for almost 12 years, I have two beautiful sons and I will be celebrating my 7th wedding anniversary. I have written four books and have released 2 albums and three singles. And I have made a mountain of art. If the odds are against you, persevere.

Our bodies are fragile. The forces of the universe are mighty. Be present and experience life. It is the most precious thing we will ever have.
