Fantastic Four 22 / October 8, 1963

Recently repurchased from The Deep out of Huntsville, Alabama. Unlike my previous copy, this is a superior copy that I can read.

One thing I didn't know about this issue is this is the first time that the Thing says, 'It's clobberin' time!'

Also, the first appearance of the Moloids, who act as minions to Moleman.

New Year’s resolution: We stop saying history will judge them. We judge them now. With judges.

For New Years' eve activities, I am putting together a bookcase. Hopefully, before the kittens wake up. Bad enough Panda is awake.

The last issue I needed to finish of Web of Spider-Man (1985) arrived with the last Journey into Mystery, the first Thor, five issues of Captain America, a replacement for my Fantastic Four 22, and a bunch of Web of Spider-Man needed to replace some damaged issues. But I still am waiting on the bucket list comic.

Sub-Mariner 36 - April 1971

Purchased from @ghostcactus_comics A bargain at $5.

Namor seeks out Proteus to preside over his marriage to Lady Dorma. When he returns, he finds Attuma attacking Atlantis but is overwhelmed by the calvary/wedding guests.

Spoilers. Namor marries Llyra, who was posing as Lady Dorma. Who declares she is the queen of Atlantis.

Amazing Spider-Man 265 - March 5, 1985

Purchased today from Ghost Cactus Comics out of Sun City, Arizona. Now I only need 188 issues of mostly silver and bronze age to finish the series.

First appearance of Silver Sable and her mercenary group Wild Pack. Also, in this issue, the one thief that Spider-Man is way too nice to Black Fox.

Nomad 12 - 15 / February 2 - May 4, 1993

4-part story Hidden in View.

I got these issues when they first came out... but I never read them. The series did not appeal to me at the time (I was young). But the comic store I worked at kept giving me the issues.

Reading it now I see a lot of relevance to that hate directed towards the community at the time and the rise of right-wing radio.

More proof that politics can be found in comics.

@BlastBunny I liked the first two; they got me into the comics. But the last one was defiantly a dud.

Hellboy The Island 1 & 2 -

Arrived today from NewKadia, part of my New Years read this weekend.

Writer and Penciler Mike Mignola

The grumpiest kitten ever just woke up. The food bowl was empty. There may be consequences.

Looks like Twitter is down. My company cannot log into any of our accounts. I am really regretting all the time and money spent over the years on that platform.

Anyway... Hello to anyone joining us on Counter Social. I think you will like it here, I do.

Marvel Graphic Novel 5 - God Loves, Man Kills - November 30, 1982

Arrived today from eBay seller marvel_dc_collector

First appearance of William Stryker and the Purifiers, a rabid anti-mutant religious group that twists the bible to fit their narrative.

You are not likely to see a movie based on this graphic novel,

Quark is still the runt of the litter. Super shy, which does not help him adoption-wise. That and a lot of fools overlook black cats. Never mind, shy often means super loyal to whoever would have him. I am inclined just to keep him. I am not really good at fostering.

@badkoukla I am missing 3, 7, 9 - 12, 14 -23, 25 - 29, 33, & 39. I plan to complete it next year. Luckily I found 34, the first Nitro, in a bargain bin in the 90s.

Spidey Super Stories 53 - March 24, 1981

Arrived today from eBay seller dtowncomics

The infamous Doom toots as he pleases issue. Though much like the Bat Man slapping Robin meme, the text was altered.

Fantastic Four 79 - July 16, 1968

Arrived today.

First appearance of Android Man, created by the Mad Tinker. Android Man was released by the police because they ignored the warning not to open the box he was in at room temperature.

Ben has to choose between his normal self or the Thing. Forever (forever does not have the same meaning in comics as it does in reality).
