Solo 1 - 4 - September—December 1994
I just reacquired these issues.
Solo first appeared in Web of Spider-Man #19 (October 1986), long before search engines were a thing. Making it more of a chore to find.these issues.
Incredible Hulk 379 / March 1991
Bought from Ghost Cactus Comics out of Suncity. Did I need another copy of this comic? Yes, because this one was autographed by Peter David, and $10 was a bargain.
First appearance of Pantheon members Achillies, Ajax, Delphie, Hector, & Ulysses.
Captain Marvel 1 /
February 8, 1968
A big milestone in my collection, but not the only one I got yesterday. One of which is a bucket list item; I just have to wait for them to arrive. This came from Ghost Cactus Comics out of Sun City, AZ. The previous owner bought it at a grocery store, keeping it pristine.
Mar-Vell's first series. The first mention of the Kree galaxy and their homeworld. I only need 22 issues to complete the series.
Amazing Spider-Man 269 & 270 / July 1985
Firelord comes to New York City like a bull in a china shop. Stopping at a pizza place because he is feeling peckish. Anti-mutant workers assume he is a mutant and try to put him out with a fire hydrant. Spider-Man swings into save them. Only to realize he is up against a herald of Galactus.
Spider-Man uses a throw-everything approach to taking out Firelord. The Avengers have to peel him off Firelord.
The dragon fruit I get from grocery stores is always white inside. This fruit is more fragrant and sweeter. Hopefully, like my Peruvian apple cactus, the fruit gets bigger over time.
Sleepwalker Holiday Special
/ November 24, 1992
Sleepwalker is not the first hero that comes to mind regarding the holidays.
Composed of two tales, Tricks of the Trade and Insomnia. In the first tale, he battles an evil genie named Mr. Jyn (Marvel name creativity at its finest). In the second tale, Rick Sheridan's insomnia keeps Sleepwalker from entering the world to go after a bank robber.
Damage Control 1 - 4 / June—September 1991
The third volume in the series and arguably the worst. The story is just as bad as the art. Honestly, I would not be sharing these if I had not seen the 4th volume come out this year. The art drew me back in. This 5 part series will arrive today.
This volume has significance in my collection, as I realized I did not need to collect everything with a Marvel label slapped... most of the time.
Doctor Strange 173 / July 2, 1968
Doctor Strange defends the Doorway of Dimensions from Dormammu. But a former colleague is trying to get Stephen to work for him as a medical consultant because he thinks Stephen is doing nothing more than chicanery.
Iron Man 250 / September 26, 1989
My first Iron Man and first comic with Doctor Doom. Part of Acts of Vengence.
Doom and Iron Man are transported by Merlin to the year 2093 to assist King Arthur against Andros Stark.
Two things stick out to me. One Iron Man had to go to Radio Shack for replacement parts. Two Arthur's return was delayed because his future parents decided to put him in cyro until they were ready for a child.
Werewolf by Night 35 /
August 26, 1975
Sold by NewKadia and the first in my collection of this series.
Writer: Doug Moench
Penciler: Don Perlin
Cover Artist: Jim Starlin
Black Panther 1 - 4 / March 1 - June 7, 1988
Sold by Ghost Cactus Comics and NewKadia. Part of my reading material this weekend.
@Billkenny To supplement their diet. I do it to keep them from eating houseplants.
