These are my first comics. They were given to me as a Christmas present by an aunt that tried to talk my mother into putting me up for adoption. Which might explain why they had a clearance sticker on the bag.
What were your first comics?
@badkoukla I would say Marvel 1980s - 93 is my favorite art and story wise. After that my interests went towards DC-Vertigo. Prior to that I have more of interest in monster/horro comics of the 60s/70s.
@BenjaminSpider I mentioned those and he went down memory lane of Sandman, Trans Metropolitan and other titles edited by Karen Berger. He’s a big fan of her work.
@BenjaminSpider my first were asterix and tintin at the breakfast table. earliest memory/happy place.
@lilyunsub I vaguely remember Astrix from the Disney channel. Do you still have them?
@BenjaminSpider yup, got pretty much the whole collection of asterix and like 90% of the tintin books! Been getting into a lot of Grant Morrison and Alan Moore, got nearly the whole collection of Invisibles (just missing 3 issues of the first series).
@BenjaminSpider Mine were funny animal comics and Harvey Comics like Casper and Baby Huey. Then the Batman tv show happened and I discovered DC. I had 12 cent copies of Batman, Brave n Bold, Green Lantern, and Justice League. Also, I happened onto this gem by Otto Binder and CC Beck, the creators of Captain Marvel.
@GlennS That's pretty cool. What year is that? The comics authority code is rather big, so maybe near the time they started that insane program.

I actually have the photo cover Spiderman issue! That was actually a pretty good era for the Webhead.
@MarshScarecrow 80 to 93 Marvel is my favorite. After that most of the 90s ware my least favorite Marvel era.
@BenjaminSpider my spouse is the collector and he’s not on social media but this is in his favorite hobby. He likes Bronze Age Marvel and he was really really into Image comics for the artwork. I like going to comic cons for the people watching.
