My antenna always goes up when a brand new account with no interaction prior posts a link to a gofundme.

Use discretion always.

This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last account to try to grift our users. We are a generous and kind community and we have supported our own. But, for those we have, we’ve come to know them over time, understanding their need is valid.

You are the commander of your own decisions whether or not to support in that way. Always validate what is before you.

@CherNohio Its always hard for me to figure out who you are blocking for grift. I wonder if there is any way to publicize that which wouldn’t be boosting their presence. I can’t imagine all get booted from here and after spending the morning on the phone with Amazon trying to get access back, I guess I am getting a bit nervous about not catching things.

More often than not, suspect accounts of this nature don't last long because of both J's eagle eyes and those of the users reporting the account. In the case of the account I was referring to, it's no longer here. ✅

It's mostly a cautionary post to be mindful of them. View the profile if you suspect to determine your course of action. Should you not see them, don't worry. Others do and they are handled accordingly. 💜
