I just spent all afternoon tweeting at the FDNY about one of their Firefighters, a Mr. Powers who works on Ladder 58, who screamed at women protesting the potential overturning of

Your body is mine! You are going to carry my baby!”

As a 32.5 years veteran career Firefighter, I felt I had no choice but to scream as loud as I could the need to terminate such a man, immediately!

That was all the proof needed to NEVER TRUST HIM NEAR A FEMALE AGAIN…not on duty or off.

Utterly Toxic.

FDNY finally responded. Appears he got a hold of someone's duty sweatshirt. No idea who he is now but whoever he is...he owes FF Powers and the FDNY a HUGE apology for misrepresenting them so badly

I am relived he was not active duty Fire

@AndersonArtwork its not quite the full story. Apparently it may have been his father who had been the firefighter. FDNY needs to say that they find not only the misuse of their uniform but the sentiments expressed to be abhorrent.

@Bear7962

I would quite literally disown a son of mine for doing that. Because he would never have been granted permission to my uniform,

I had to get special permission to give one of our department approved breast cancer support T-shirts to my sister-in-law who had survived breast cancer.

They only allowed it because it was a lesser known uniform shirt. My main ones are still in my closet.

NO ONE gets to wear those.
