Anyone else ever embarrassed by how much their children yell while outside? Like, my neighbors must think we're awful. Especially when I have to yell back. This feels like a daily occurrence.
@clucky Latter. They're always fighting over something really stupid like how tall an imaginary thing is, or what color it should be. Who was out at the base. Like, it's the dumbest stuff possible and it always ends in tears and "I'M NOT PLAYING WITH YOU ANYMORE FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT" which...you know, doesn't happen.
@BabyToaster Ah yeah that lasts until puberty. With some coaching, you could give them an intuitive prompt like "Yo! We have neighbors!" when they need to be reminded to keep it down.
@clucky I was afraid of that, lol. I'm trying to teach them to save that energy for something more productive. They understand the concept, but getting them to do it in the moment is a whole other thing.
@BabyToaster maybe no one feels heard...
@Staceface Whoops, I read that wrong.
You know, I told that to my oldest. To just listen and maybe the youngest wouldn't yell so much at him. To you know...stop talking. I even did the Hamilton beat.
"Talk less."
@BabyToaster like, playing loudly? Or is it angry yelling? The latter is certainly stressful to anyone within earshot, and the former is a sign of a healthy neighborhood
