โ€œOne of the most maddening aspects of the 2024 election is the extent to which so many voters viewed Trump as a mostly normal political candidate.โ€
~ David French

When they go to the polls, they contract out that work to politicians who, for whatever evanescent reasons, seem to reflect themselves back to them. Or else reflect back an image of themselves theyโ€™d rather see.

โ€œThe second person suggested that Musk was hurting his chances of sticking around by not keeping a low profile, as the former president hates sharing the spotlight. Earlier this week, Trump cracked a joke at Muskโ€™s expense during a meeting with Republican lawmakers, a reminder to everyone that Musk serves at his leisure, not the other way around.โ€

โ€œServes?โ€

No one serves. One is owned until discarded. You are replaceable. You are just a thing, barely human. Discarded you are โ€œthe worstโ€ฆโ€

Ugh, someone gave me their cold Thursday...it's been kickin my ass since.

Respiratory viruses suck for asthmatics...nebulizer's been getting a workout...but no need for an ER visit so far.

Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

โ€œAnd heโ€™s sure taking lots of credit for the presidentโ€™s victory. Bragging about America PAC and X to anyone who will listen. Heโ€™s trying to make President Trump feel indebted to him. And the president is indebted to no one,โ€ they added.

Apparently he is acting as if he is โ€œco-presidentโ€ and thatโ€™s pissing people off. Of course he thinks heโ€™s deserved an important spot in Trumpโ€™s inner circle: he believes in quid pro quoโ€”that Trump will reward him.

When protection of the law is in the hands of those to whom lawbreaking is a way of life, and to whom the law is merely an instrument of vengeance and not of justice, then resistance to the law becomes righteousness.

If confirmed as the head of Trump Iโ€™s Department of Health and Human Services, Kennedy would involuntarily enlist the entire population of the United States in a clinical trial to see what happens if the most advanced country in the world rolls back its medical technology to the 1950s.

We should have elected a cat for president.

It would have made sure everyone was fed (starting with it.)

Criminal reform would be more humane but damaging to their shoes. Or those might get, ah, filled.

A cat tree in every house.

Foreign policy would consist of climbing up in the lap of a foreign leader and purring until they comply.

What's morally needed is not individual invisibility, but help for all of those who haven't got the knowledge or the skill or the privileged identity that will allow them to slip through the rรฉgime's dragnet. What's needed is for those who have that privilege to send messages, offer sanctuary, harbor fugitives, hinder enforcement of evil laws.

Good morning, CoSo!

When the secret police come to fetter out all those who have been disloyal to the rรฉgime or transgressed its arbitrary commandments or simply been in a category of people the rรฉgime defines as anathema, it's not enough to be good at hiding your tracks and blending in with the multitude. Maybe you can escape detection with the right pseudonyms and passwords and secret software. But that's merely self-preservation, not resistance.

Interesting! Gonna look into that. I am a big believer in voting with my dollars. I wish more chains like Lowes, HomeDepot, Walmart, etc were run/founded by dems.

7 years already?

My how time flies!
