what is yโallโs favorite comfort food after a long day of work and itโs a cold night?
mine is pho ๐ yaaas ๐ฒ
oh very hearty! @Ironworker229
@Armchaircouch mmmmmm pho.
Chicken and dumpling maybe?
Italian beef sandwich.
Spicy sausage lentil soup
Salmon (Iโm weird)
lol! to eat their own! Have you ever had a leftover salmon bake with potatoes and peas and white sauce?
Oh my God, dumplings ๐คค @Beanc
that was a rather artistic typo. Iโm leaving it. lol @Beanc
@Armchaircouch ๐ lol I missed it.
Twice.
@Armchaircouch I havenโt, but I shall try!
I like variants of this often if Iโm not lazy

ooh. two mustard creme sauce!! whaaat Iโm so making that.
I think the salmon bake with the cream sauce etc. is one of my favorite comfort dishes. @Beanc
โฅ๏ธ gravy makes it extra comfort-foodish , @Valkyrie_D
@Armchaircouch
Assuming little time and few ingredients Iโd go for a tuna melt.
ooooh love those! thatโs a good one @realDDGlover
@Armchaircouch food that I donโt have to cook? ๐
Clam chowder. ๐คค
Ha! Nice. Yup thatโs cozy lol
wow, it has been over 13 years since Iโve had clam chowder. @Faay
@Armchaircouch whoaaaa, you should remedy that.๐
:) Iโm mostly vegetarian, until someone comes out with a vegetarian recipe, I am up a creek! @Faay
@Armchaircouch my Nan's drumstick stew. Grilled chicken thighs/legs, stewed all day with potato, carrot, rutabega, turnip, and onion. Topped with "doughboys" (Newfoundland dumplings).
โฅ๏ธ That sounds like a very old recipe! I bet the whole house smells good, @Halcyon
@Armchaircouch I make it every Christmas eve, as Nan did. The house smells incredible all day. It's a nearly 80 year old recipe. Made to feed many in hard times, but still delicious and filling on a cold winter night.
Oh I love this! that you carry it on. Old recipes are like treasure, I think. That one sounds packed with nutrients, too. Yum! @Halcyon
@Armchaircouch delicious if you really love winter veggies. That recipe, and my Nan's bread are traditions that remain unchanged from great Gran, to Nan, to Mom, to me.
โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ yum bread too!!
I do love winter veggies! I would just have to leave out the chicken and I know how much of an impact that would have on the flavor ๐ญ I could still try it though with the not-chicken chicken seasoning, but I know itโs not the same. @Halcyon
do you use white onion? Russet potato? @Halcyon
@Armchaircouch Son might agree with you! I'd go with beef stew and some crusty bread, though.
