any experience mechanics in the house? Does anybody know after a battery has been switched out, a new battery installed, this lead to some funky wiring issues?
Ever since my new battery was put in my Hyundai, the dash light stopped working, but even more strange when I would go to turn on my headlights the doors lock.
@Armchaircouch make and model year? Possible BCM issue >.>
@Armchaircouch did you swap battery with same CCA and CA?
I donโt know because the mechanic did it but what are these things you are referring to? Iโm on the go, and I canโt Google right nowโฆ Thank you in advance! @MrGoat
@Armchaircouch Just tell me what the make year and model is lol i'll check issues - but possible it's a computer module deal that you can probably swap out yourself maybe.
2010 Hyundai ELANTRA, thank you! Sorry for the delay I was in a work meeting and I donโt know why Siri has capitalize the word ELANTRA. I canโt edit right now @MrGoat
@Armchaircouch i dont see any of that issue you have 0.0 probably need to go back where you did battery and have them see what's up. 0.0
@MrGoat & @Valkyrie_D
thank you both of you! She is currently back in the hands of the original mechanic, Iโm glad they were very nice and said to bring it back right away and I think theyโre just going to give me a new battery, but they are also testing the components. We shall see!
@Armchaircouch awesome. This usually happens if the battery isnโt charged fully or if the terminals are corroded or werenโt clamped properly.
@MrGoat
@Valkyrie_D @Armchaircouch @MrGoat
It could also be an accidentally cut or frayed wire shorting out somewhere.
Ok thank you!
whatever it is I hope itโs cheap. @Render @Valkyrie_D @MrGoat
@Armchaircouch Often, with modern cars, when a new battery is installed, the mechanic needs to clear various computer codes to make everything work correctly. My guess is this wasn't done properly, or at all.
interesting and if this is the case, that seems like it might be an easy fix! I think they are just going to give me a brand new battery as well so I will ask them about that when they call me, thank you! @stueytheround
@Armchaircouch this is common after battery replacements. Take it back to the mechanic and have him reset the components that are malfunctioning.
@Armchaircouch um that sounds like something else. >.>
