I love my job.
I love the work I do.
I even like the people I work with, for the most part.
But some days, getting people to give me accurate information about a problem can be frustrating. I spend more time digging for that one element than solving most issues. I appreciate why Sherlock Holmes turned to drugs.
Holmes never got tired of digging for things.
It was when he had nothing at all to occupy himself with that he resorted to cocaine.
In contrast, late yesterday someone sent me an issue with part of a website. Gave me enough info I could recreate the problem, confirm the cause, and reach out to the appropriate people for a fix. The smallest detail is frequently the key to it all.
