My power company is running their "usage reduction" program this afternoon. Because I have solar panels on my house, I'm not affected. In fact, my AC is running AND I'm still feeding energy into the grid. THIS is why I invested.

No, but they will restrict energy use / temperatures for those who participate. For me, any excess I put into the grid works as energy credit for me. So for 6-7 months of the year, I'm only paying utility lines fees for my bill. Winter is usually higher use with less return.
