Bill Hamner was the father of a dear friend of mine, and he passed last week. I only met him a few times, but that's because the man never sat still. Ever. When I met him he was getting ready to study krill in the Antarctic.
The man changed Oceanography for the better. He designed the first aquarium that could successfully hold jellyfish.
He was an amazing man.
