Something I want to say before we continue: Donald J Trump is not a first time offender. He's a first time felon. It's worth pointing out that he, his children, and his companies have been charged with crimes many times and in almost every case he has been found guilty. He has paid millions in fines, is currently liable for hundreds of millions more in fines, and is presently not allowed to do business in several states, and is not allowed to run charities or schools in any form.

A lot of that is civil but it's still crimes. The big difference is that now he's been convicted of felonies and for the first time may be facing prison.
He's been a criminal for decades.
