In 1983 I started collecting records with intent. I moved to college with 50 albums. At the end of 1983 I owned about 400. (I own about 16,000 now.) For my 1983 playlist I break the 100 song barrier of "songs you should know". This is a great list to put on random play.

Enjoy!

@Animeraider oh wow! 16k? Okay. I’m NOT getting a turntable. I have too much stuff to move as it is. :)

Any interesting bootlegs?

@MookyTroubadour I generally stay away from bootlegs, although I do have a few Grateful Dead concerts.

heh heh heh

My real problem is just how much I HATE what radio has devolved into. I want to hear what I want to hear when I want to hear it. I've actually slowed down quite a bit, thanks to streaming. I have tons of classical, and with really only one exception nothing I have is actually valuable.

I do have a "Butcher Cover" though, stored in a bank vault. ^_^

@Animeraider @MookyTroubadour

You literally have your very own radio station library. Im a bit envious!

@Bliss @Animeraider at the risk of being heretical, I’d have ripped all those to FLAC. Shun me if you must :)

@MookyTroubadour @Bliss

I have done that. I am a musician/audio engineer, after all.

@Animeraider wait- the Beatles Butcher thingy? Whoa! And Niiiiice!

@Animeraider Wow, that's a lot of albums! I just got back into vinyl and my collection is small, but I've found new joy listening to albums front to back, just like the old days.
