My 20 songs from 1969 is important to me because this is the first year of my life that I owned some of these albums. CCR's Willie and the Poor Boys, being a favorite. Dad owned the Santana album, and Mom The Allman Brothers.

Dad hated the Joe Cocker song, which would be hilarious later as he and Cocker became friends in the 80's. It would be years before I discovered why mom liked The Allman Brothers so much.

This is the last time I keep the list at 20.

More notes:

First song I taught myself to play bass with was "Ramble On".

My first rock concert (that I'd remember) would be Three Dog Night two years later.

"Spinning Wheel" might have been my first favorite song. Mom bought that album too.

And man, that Joni Mitchell album - not a bad track on it. Shame it's not on Spotify any more but gotta respect the woman's reasons. This will happen a few times with her and Neil Young.
