When I started creating playlists on Spotify my first thought was create a list of 20 important songs from each year, starting with the only in which I was born. Here are the 20 songs I picked from 1965. This is when you realize that some of your favorite songs of the '80s are actually remakes of their favorite songs of the '60s:
