Seems far-fetched to me. The entire plan would depend on exactly zero Republicans doing something that would destroy their party, and there are way too many of them who are unwilling to put party before crazy.
Especially when MTG is pushing Putin's talking points, it would be very easy for a foreign agent to whisper in her ear, treat her like a king maker, and convince her that this is exactly what she should do to advance her political career.
Too many people on both sides are proponents of "burn it all to the ground so a society more to our liking can magically arise from the ashes."
And who would be the first Republican to resign and give the majority to the Democrats, and where will they and their family hide from the MAGA zealots when Trump calls them out as the reason he may not be able to run for President?
