Today I had to explain to a younger coworker that the white pages in the back of a book of checks were deposit slips, and that you could actually mail a money order to your credit union to deposit it if you didn't have time to take it in person.

Unfortunately, she doesn't remember where her check book is, as she doesn't know how to write checks and has never used one.

Just as well. She doesn't have a lot of experience addressing and stamping envelopes, either.

@AlphaCentauri I'm in my mid-40s and their forgot about those deposit slips or never knew that... or about mailing a money order. My spouse shakes his head that our two offspring are lacking in experience re: writing and cashing cheques, addressing envelopes, etc., but I said to him (at the time), when have we ever actually stopped to show them how? Guess that's what I'll be checking on tomorrow, lol...

My son sent off a college application with a 1 cent stamp, because he didn't understand that letters required specific amounts of postage.
