I'm feeling really down today. Election doomerism is kicking hard. My boss is looking for us to cut costs and there's just not much more out of the services we have that I can find. I'm basically down to seeing if we can shave $20/mo off of various cloud services.
If we can't, there will be a reduction in headcount. I'll probably be fine (just no raise) but I know I'd have to drop someone on my team. Good guy. I'd have to absorb his workload.
@AI78 Refuse to do the firing. Make the person who actually made the decision to let them go do it.
@AskTheDevil I just hope it doesn't come to that.
He's not the strongest member of the team, so if I had to absolutely cut one person it would have to be him. Doesn't make it any more enjoyable.
