I know I need to be better.
But I have several transgender friends who I love dearly. When someone says they’re not people or they’re confused or they’re a “fad”, it makes me crazy.
I want to scream “HAVE YOU MET {person}!?! THEY’RE A HUMAN FUCKING BEING LIKE YOU OR I.”

@AI78 I know it hurts to be upset, and it's infuriating to be like "WTF?!" but I'm glad you're the kind of good person who does get upset about this. The more of us getting mad and being loud allies, the quieter the bigots have to be (and may they all get splinters under their finger nails forever!!)
@QueerCoven I don’t want them to have splinters so much as a revelation in how they are thinking and feeling about their fellow people.
Anyway, thank you all for letting me vent. It drives me batshit crazy arguing with LGB people about this.

It's f***ing dangerous to be anything but a white Christian Conservative male these days. People don't choose to be transgender and make themselves a target. It's who they are and it's no one else's business but theirs. Why can't more people respect that?

At some point you need to recognize that not everyone has your experience, advantages and freedoms. That doesn’t mean they don’t have value in all of those experiences and ways of being that aren’t you.
I’m just mad that other marginalized communities can’t see that.
