The emergency rule requires transgender patients โ of any age โ to undergo at least 15 hour-long sessions of therapy over the course of at least 18 months before seeking gender-affirming care. It also requires physicians to track โall adverse effectsโ of gender-affirming care for at least 15 years, and to not allow treatment if the patient has autism or depression.
