Well, it was a good call, but now I get to grapple with the possibility of them moving to Europe in the next couple years.
Yes, election-related. I don't know if they realize how difficult it is to emigrate, but his wife is stubborn as hell, so she might be able to make it happen. (I say that lovingly.)
I don't think it's in the cards for me to follow suit (or even to visit, really, with the cost of traveling that far), thus the needing to grapple with the possibility.
Waiting and seeing.
My primary method of steadying anxiety is to find something I can control or directly impact that's adjacent to what I'm anxious about and throwing myself into that.
Easier said than done, sometimes.
What can I really do? Prepare for tariffs, try to keep my job, try to encourage my partner to find a job... strengthen interpersonal irl relationships that I've let slip (that is, reinforce my network and safety net).
I need to get back into yoga, meditation. I'm taking my meds, at least.
@evistre ((π)) Control what you can and make small preparations β¦ someone mentioned getting extra food items if possible and storing now for price rises in future. If, miracle of miracle happens and food prices stay flat ( or better, things change in government leaders) you have extra cans of vegetables or beans or extra paper towels. #politics

@ACG2 Yeah, I think I'll be doing some of that.
I need to go through the current stock and pull out everything that's past its best/use by date and see what I actually have.
More organization needed. Maybe I'll organize my kitchen storage to make "first in - first out" easier to accomplish so I don't let stuff expire.
