@66ALW99 I am overdue getting my eyes tested by 3 years! It's on my list for the New Year. It's making a decision on the frames that puts me off!
@MoreMeesThanMee I got a test at Boots, but it was a PITA, tbh. They're supposed to do free NHS tests, but you have to tell them beforehand you want an NHS one (I didn't know 'cos it's the first time I used them). So they got all the way to the end, and then didn't give me the voucher they're supposed to.
Might just be my local branch is particularly inept, but it's enough to make me avoid them in future for tests.
@66ALW99 That's annoying!
@MoreMeesThanMee I didn't realise at the time, because I used to pay for tests etc, but almost every local optician can do the same test and issue the voucher for glasses - but you can only get the one free test every two years, so Boots kinda screwed me there cos I couldn't just go get another test done at my local place..
@MoreMeesThanMee They were the first place I ever got glasses from π
There was quite a hard sell approach, though, which put me off them, but maybe that varies from store to store. I found a local independent optician that's pretty good - I would've used them the whole time except I didn't realise I could get NHS tests done through them for free. The whole NHS optician process seems unnecessarily convoluted tbh
