Ok, pot is legal here.

But I'm not sure I should be smelling it at a kids soccer practice.

@White_Rabbit @0x56 That sounds more like something that might happen if someone was in the throes of PCP-induced psychosis... or perhaps someone who's combined an ungodly amount of meth with way too much alcohol.

Or maybe just a really, REALLY angry drunk - IIRC alcohol has a stronger propensity to lead to violent behaviour than most if not all (other) common drugs.

Or perhaps someone who's already psychotic and prone to extreme violence as a result of untreated pre-existing mental illness.

@0x56 It surely shouldn't be smoked there or close to there. Smells do carry though. I guarantee people are smoking in places where it is still criminal, too.

@0x56 We didn't wait around for 'should' when it was illegal, I doubt students do now either 😉

@0x56 I don't disagree, but that was just as much of a problem back when it was illegal. Difference now is people don't get locked up for years - & wind up with criminal records, blacklisting them from employment - just for having the stuff. Oh, and all the revenue from sales isn't going to organized crime anymore.

For all you know, it could just be someone who lives nearby smoking up in their backyard... or (maybe, just maybe?) there's no pot at all, & what you're smelling is actually a skunk?

@0x56 FWIW if you're *really* bothered by it, it's contantly a problem, other people are complaining too, etc... you could check your local bylaws.

While pot's legal, in many/most municipalities creating a public nuisance (usually including offensive odours) is prohibited by bylaw; where that is the case it usually carries a small fine, although the bylaw officer may just give them a warning.

Which is a *much* more proportionate & reasonable response than arrest/charges like under prohibition.
