Do me a favor, would you?

Find somebody who's down.
Don't try to fix them.
Just let them know it's OK to feel that way, and give them a hug, a coffee, a knowing look, whatever.
Show them they're accepted. Show them they are part of a community.

@0x56 I once told a partner in Family medicine that I was going to open "Hugs and Tea". We listen, offer green teas and hugs. Based on my time in family medicine it would have cut the daily patient load in half, that goes double for the holidays.

@0x56 Good post.I just saw this quote this morning that aligns up perfectly:

People don't want to be talked out of their feelings. People want to be heard, seen, felt, and understood. -Rachel Samson

@loboholic - people will help their own community, and may try hurting communities that hurt them.

Pushing somebody out of a community, or even just leaving a member of a community behind begets feelings of pain.

@0x56 I have a lot of thoughts around what you said and I fully agree.
