not much you can do about this (I won't recommend anybody inexperienced rooting their phone)
@ecksmc - supply chain attacks... hard to pull off... but devastating when its done.
@0x56 very devastating
do you know if Samsung have made any statement about this??
would they care ? i guess is another question
@ecksmc -you know as much (possibly more) than I....
@0x56 oh i don't know about that 😊
need to do a search later preparing lunch and your post caught my eye and sidetracked me a lil lol
@0x56 🤔 I'm starting to wonder if having a cell phone and having the expectation of data security can coexist.
@Dane - it can, but many of the conveniences you use it for cannot. Want ready-when-you-are navigation? No.
Want to not bother remember phone numbers? only on iPhones.
Want SM? no
Want to look something up? no, unless using DDG.
Email? no
Fitness Tracking? no
Games? no
Banking? hell no
Camera? no
Music? only if it's stored on-device
@Dane @0x56 There are phones, which try to give you both functionality and privacy. The one I use is powered by the /e/ OS. https://www.zdnet.com/article/the-e-google-free-pro-privacy-android-phone-runs-well-for-a-beta/
@0x56 that's........it's......wow......fuckin......
bejezusssssssssssssssss
