@0x56 Well just think about what was contained in the data stolen via the OPM breach. Everything necessary to accomplish exactly this. I did a FOIA request for my file, it is the perfect tool for this type of attack. And there is exactly no defense against it, NONE!
@TXWayne - there are defences - but they are expensive and not mandatory, so they aren't in place.
@0x56 Maybe for part of this example but not most of it. Social media misinformation is a large part of what is described. What were you thinking?
@0x56 True, I froze my credit after the OPM breach, it is a real pain for even me to use. I know as I tried it once since then.
