I just opened USA Today app, and headline after headline was, “Big money donors want Biden out.”

Fuck them big money donors. They are willing to blow up the Dem party because he had a terrible debate months from the election? I’m from PA. Senator Fetterman had a stroke, was barely coherent during a debate right before the election, and he won by a landslide. Yes I know that POTUS is significantly more critical than a Senator, but Biden has a solid team. Ffs.

@misslovelymess Here is the thing: we don't really vote for a person anymore; we vote for an ideology. But big$ donors fancy themselves kingmakers. They envision their largesse as an air of power than they imbue upon their chosen candidate. And they believe they have chips in the game if their guy gets elected. They would not donate if they thought they were giving to an ideology. An ideology can't owe you something; an ideology won't remember.

@wyrmeboi I saw a quote along the lines of, “They are wondering if they should put their money elsewhere..” Where else would they put it if he runs?

Names like Shapiro keep being floated around, and while I like our Governor, he just got elected to his first term as Governor, and nobody knows who he is. If Biden had not ran for reelection, Shapiro wouldn’t have even been in the primary. It’s ridiculous.

@misslovelymess You do need big name recognition this late in the game. If Biden steps aside, 4 names have the heft IMO: Harris, Newsome, Whitmer and Buttigieg.
