Inktober, day 23. I spent my childhood around pines, magnolias, and oaks. I only knew this leaf from pictures teachers pulled out for autumn art projects and identified as "example of a colorful fall leaf".

I got excited like a little kid at Christmas the first time I saw maple trees in autumn.

@weirdfizz It's certainly familiar in my country, but for any kid that was given the school assignment of having to draw our flag, it was a mighty pain in the arse. 🇨🇦 🤭 (I still can't draw one to save my life, but i love maple syrup, the simple design of our flag, and my country. 😊)

@Christmas_Snow I grew up in Texas. We were all jealous of kids who lived in square or rectangular shaped states when it came to trying to draw our state.

@weirdfizz Oh yeah, i hear ya on that one. Ontario isn't very easy to draw either! Honestly, trying to draw our country isn't easy either (especially the northern parts) but i always get the great lakes right--it's a palm tree with 2 puddles to the right 😁
