Hey #writingcommunity do you have a character that you favor over others? I realize asking this is like asking parents if they have a favorite child, where they’ll deny it but everybody knows they do lol. But be honest haha
I have a character named Abel that I absolutely love writing and have an easier time writing than the others. I just feel like writing for him comes so naturally compared to the others where I feel like I have to think things through more.
What about you?
@luisprieto_author My short stories allow for characters to turn up again, and there is one I fight myself to keep her quiet. I know she has more stories to tell, but so do other characters! She's a character I'd happily spend a day hanging out with.
@weirdfizz this was my dilemma with my 2nd book where Abel is more of a supporting character. Luckily the story developed in a way where I was naturally able to bring him a little more into the forefront in the 2nd half but it was hard keeping him on the sidelines at first!
@luisprieto_author I can get around it by writing more stories with my favorite character and waiting to release them. If it was a novel, though, I might just turn the whole thing into her story. It's so fun to write from her point of view!
@weirdfizz I’m definitely considering doing some short stories with the character once I wrap up this trilogy but part of me also knows I should probably move on and create new characters to love but damn it’s hard to leave them behind 😂
