@ecksmc I left a year or so ago and never looked.... Scratch that, I've looked back plenty. I miss Twitter a lot. Like I miss the Chinese restaurant and the ice cream shop that used to be across the street. And the little corner grocery down the block when I was a kid. But y'know, those things are gone.
Now there's a sushi place across the street and there's Xitter. Fine if you like sashimi and Nazism. I prefer the Korean sushi down the way and Counter Social.
@ecksmc I do appreciate those intrepid souls who Wade into Xitter to extract nuggets of wisdom amidst the muck, and show them here.
Three other things about the algorithm, besides it giving you content intended to outrage you. It promotes anything Nazi. It promotes anything that gives money to Musk. It promotes anything from Musk.
@walterbays agree about algorithm
That said mostly you'll only see they posts in the "for you" tab or via search "trending topics"
Stick to "followers" tab and creating a buncha lists of users that show in your own curated tabs cuts out they posts - granted you might see some when you tap on certain posts via list tabs, followers tab, in replies but mostly you don't - the outrage posts you do mostly have to loom for they can be avoided if you really want or at least minimalist from seeing them
@walterbays thing is while a lot of it is trash and a lot of users talk shite there is still a lot of good content shared and a lot of good people on the platform
But most people look for the bad, at least the people who complain most, and so the algorithm will feed you the bad - if you know how the game is played you can steer yourself away from that nonsense
😉
Each to their own though 😆
