While I am not one of those who have found plausible the arguments that the assassination attempt against TFG was a "set-up," I am quite puzzled at two things about it:
First, how very little we've heard from the Secret Service or the FBI about what actually happened, the ballistics, the shooter's motives, how he avoided security and got a clear shot;
Second, even more unbelievable, the complete lack of interest by the media in investigating any of these ordinary questions.
@DavidSalo I don't care much for conspiracy theories, even from the left, but... It is puzzling how his ear grew back so fast when others suffering similar injuries took much longer or never completely recovered.
The least tinfoil explanation would be that he suffered the tiniest little scratch like a razor nick.

Yep! The least tinfoil, most plausible explanation in my book is that his ear got nicked by a piece of shrapnel or when he was covered by the Secret Service.
Not a chance that caliber of bullet would heal on a 78 year old man that quickly. It would have left a hole the size of a penny had he been directly hit, but even a close zing wouldn't have been picture ready in a couple of weeks.
