Sometimes... being founder, creator, database architect, security ops, net eng, red team, blue team, infrastructure engineer, moderation team, legal, CIO, CISO, CEO, CFO, COO, and marketing dept... makes ya feel like this....

(Don't get me wrong, on the upside, HR is fucking simple 😂)

@th3j35t3r is feeling a bit stressed, dealing with it well, maintaining his sense of humor. Still it is recommended that he consult th3j35t3r, the company counselor to discuss. His manager th3j35t3r will be advised, and a bonus vacation day or two is advisable. Keep HR director th3j35t3r advised.

Seriously, I still think there are a number of people here who would be able and willing to help out, part time volunteers. I follow a number of them.

@walterbays @th3j35t3r i was thinking the same. there's a number of OG CoSonauts around that would pitch in to help i'm sure.

Community moderators are quite common in other places and you have a clear TOS. have to develop the system to log CM actions tho.

something to consider J. it doesn't HAVE to be a one man show.

@nl37tgt @walterbays @th3j35t3r The hard part, of course, would be finding people who will stay true to J's vision of a forum that accepts all manner of viewpoints, but rejects abusive behaviour and disinformation.

A lot of people are really, really bad at keeping their personal feelings (especially relating to political/religious issues or other controversial matters) separate from their actions - so their actions end up being biased based on their beliefs, which would not be good as a CM etc.

@IrelandTorin @nl37tgt @th3j35t3r True. But I think I've seen some of them here. J probably has as well and could make a pretty good choice. Then any mod decision would be subject to J review, and too many J reversals would kick someone out of moderator role.

You might well ask, wouldn't overseeing their work cost J just as much effort as doing it all himself? Yes, at first. After a week or so building trust, he could sit back and relax, taking a look only if called upon by an escalation.

@IrelandTorin @nl37tgt @th3j35t3r He could also have every decision made by a random set of 3 moderators. If all agree and user doesn't escalate then he never sees it. If they split 2-1 he reviews which provides feedback to the mods, and hopefully they do better. Again, if someone is consistently out of step they're dropped.
